It provides a higher port count and enterprise-class functionality at a mid-range price. Additionally, it is FICON Control Unit Port (CUP) qualified for unseen integration into mainframe environments.

The Brocade M4700 Fabric Switch begins with 16 ports and expands in 8-port increments using Brocade's Flexport technology. It provides 32-port density in 1U of rack space and 4 Gb/sec bandwidth on every port. Plus, users can auto-negotiate to 2 and 1 Gb/sec to protect existing assets.

Other features of the Brocade M4700 include pay-as-you-grow scalability up to 32 ports, highest port density in 1U form factor, high performance 4 Gb/sec technology, easy wizard-based installation and configuration, fabric services and ISL capability on every port and FICON CUP qualified.
