The ProCurve Access Control Server 745wl enables network managers to unify wireless and wired mobility, and to easily deploy edge-enforced access control. Dynamic adjustment of access control policies based user, location, and time-of-day provides precise control of the network connection. All HTTP traffic is encrypted through the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSLv3).

Traffic tagging and placement of wireless traffic on separate VLANs are enabled through the use of IEEE 802.1Q VLAN. Authentication and proxy services are handled on the ProCurve Access Control Server 745wl by the built-in RADIUS server. Gigabit Ethernet enables connection to a high-speed backbone. Wireless data privacy is handled by IPSec, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, or SSH tunnels, to encrypt wireless traffic.
