The HP ProLiant DL series are a low cost,
entry level rack-optimized family of
servers. A wide array of processors are
supported, including Intel® Xeon®, Celeron®,
Pentium®, and Core™2. This allows network
administrators to customize the server based
on cost as well as application demand.
Some of the available options available
for the ProLiant DL series include: HP SAS
HBAs, Smart Array Controllers, and support
for SAS hard disk drives. Remote management
is made possible by utilizing an optional
LO100c Remote Management Card. Two
PCI-Express slots are standard equipment on
the DL series servers, with an option to
upgrade one of the slots to PCI-X.
ProLiant DL servers are available in one,
two, four, and eight socket designs,
optimized for rack-mounted environments.
RAID5 support can be added with an optional
Smart Array controller, making these servers
ideal for file, print, and web sharing.
