The HP ProCurve Secure Router 7000dl Series enables small and medium businesses to implement a very affordable and scalable platform for connecting between different office locations. Support for wire-speed routing, a variety of WAN interface modules, convergence capabilities, and integrated security enable secure office connections. Load balancing across multiple connections is made possible by utilizing Equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) for BGP, OSPF, and static routes.

The HP ProCurve Secure Router 7000dl Series utilizes Layer 2 Switching to support complete IEEE 802.1Q. Layer 3 services such as IP multicast, DHCP, SNTP Client/Server, and PIM Sparse mode are supported out of the box. Support for IP routing protocols such as RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, and BGP4 are also part of the standard features. Authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) are handled by TACACS+.
